Privacy
In plain language, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
What is collected
If you buy a ticket, the purchase happens on Eventbrite, and Eventbrite collects your name, email and payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, ticket type and any answers you gave on the ticket form. We never see your card number.
If you join the email list on this site, we store your email address and the date you joined. Nothing else.
This site sets no advertising trackers and no third party cookies of its own. The Eventbrite checkout, once it is open on the page, sets its own cookies under Eventbrite's policy.
Why
To get you into the event, to tell you about the next one, and to credit a ticket to the agent who invited you where that applies. That is the whole list.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link and it works. If you unsubscribe you stop hearing from us, in practice immediately and at the outside within ten business days. You can also simply reply and ask.
Who else sees it
Eventbrite, because that is where tickets are sold, and our email provider, because that is how an email gets sent. Nobody else. Your information is not sold, rented or traded, and it is never handed to another organizer.
If you attend as a guest of an agent, that agent can see that you registered under their invitation. That is the point of a guest ticket.
Photographs
The event is photographed and filmed, and those images may be used afterwards to promote future events on this site and on social media. If you would rather not appear, tell a member of the team on the day, or email us afterwards with enough detail to find the photo and it comes down.
How long it is kept
Ticket and attendance records are kept while they are useful for running the next event. Answers given on an Eventbrite form are retained by Eventbrite for two years. Email list entries are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. Email info@tbko.ca and a person will handle it.
